بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ

əлəм тəрō кəйфə фə'əлə рōббукə би`əсhəəбиль-фииль

Have you not regarded how your Lord dealt with the army of the elephants?

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ

əлəм йəдж'əль кəйдəhум фии тəдлииль

Did He not make their stratagems go awry,

وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ

вə`əрсəлə 'əлэйhим тōйрōн əбəəбииль

and send against them flocks of birds

تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

тəрмииhимм-биhиджəəрōтимм-миŋŋ-сиджджииль

pelting them with stones of shale,

فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍۭ

фəджə'əлəhум кə'əсфимм-мə`кууль

thus making them like chewed-up straw?
