فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ غُرَابًا يَبْحَثُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُۥ كَيْفَ يُوَٰرِى سَوْءَةَ أَخِيهِ  ۚ قَالَ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَٰذَا ٱلْغُرَابِ فَأُوَٰرِىَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِى  ۖ فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ

фəбə'əc̃əл-лаhу ґурōōбəй-йəбhəc̃у фииль-əрды лийурийəhу кəйфə йувəəрии сəу`əтə əхыыh, ќōōлə йəə вəйлəтəə ə'əджəзту əн əкуунə миc̃лə həəз̃əəль-ґурōōби фə`увəəрийə сəу`əтə əхый, фə`əсбəhə минəн-нəəдимиин

Then Allah sent a crow, exploring in the ground, to show him how to bury the corpse of his brother. He said, ‘Woe to me! Am I unable to be [even] like this crow and bury my brother’s corpse?’ Thus he became regretful.

مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَٰلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنَّهُۥ مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًۢا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَآ أَحْيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا  ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ

мин əджли з̃əəликə кəтəбнəə 'əлəə бəнии исрōō`иилə əннəhу мəŋŋ-ќōтəлə нəфсəмм-биґōйри нəфсин əу фəсəəдин фииль-əрды фəкə`əннəмəə ќōтəлəн-нəəсə джəмии'əу-вəмəн əhйəəhəə фəкə`əннəмəə əhйəəн-нəəсə джəмии'ə, вəлəќōд джəə`əтhум русулюнəə би-ль-бэййинəəти c̃уммə иннə кəc̃иирōмм-минhумм-бə'дə з̃əəликə фииль-əрды лəмусрифуун

That is why We decreed for the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, without [its being guilty of] manslaughter or corruption on the earth, is as though he had killed all mankind, and whoever saves a life is as though he had saved all mankind. Our apostles certainly brought them manifest signs, yet even after that, many of them commit excesses on the earth.

إِنَّمَا جَزَٰٓؤُاْ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا أَن يُقَتَّلُوٓاْ أَوْ يُصَلَّبُوٓاْ أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم مِّنْ خِلَٰفٍ أَوْ يُنفَوْاْ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ  ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لَهُمْ خِزْىٌ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا  ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

иннəмəə джəзəə`уль-лəз̃иинə йуhəəрибуунəл-лаhə вəрōсуулəhу вəйəс'əунə фииль-əрды фəсəəдəн əй-йуќōттəлюю əу йусōльлəбуу əу туќōттō'ə əйдииhим вə`əрджулюhум-мин хылəəфин əу йуŋŋфəу минəль-əрд, з̃əəликə лəhум хызйун фиид-дунйəə, вəлəhум фииль-əəхырōти 'əз̃əəбун 'əз̃ыым

Indeed the requital of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle, and try to cause corruption on the earth, is that they shall be slain or crucified, or shall have their hands and feet cut off from opposite sides, or be banished from the land. That is a disgrace for them in this world, and in the Hereafter, there is a great punishment for them,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَقْدِرُواْ عَلَيْهِمْ  ۖ فَٱعْلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

ильлəəль-лəз̃иинə тəəбуу миŋŋ-ќōбли əŋŋ-тəќдируу 'əлэйhим, фəə'лəмуу əннəл-лаhə ґōфуурур-рōhиим

excepting those who repent before you capture them, and know that Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱبْتَغُوٓاْ إِلَيْهِ ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ وَجَٰهِدُواْ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

йəə əййуhəəль-лəз̃иинə əəмəнуу-ттəќуул-лаhə вəəбтəґуу илəйhиль-вəсиилəтə вəджəəhидуу фии сəбиилиhи лə'əльлəкум туфлиhуун

O you who have faith! Be wary of Allah, and seek the means of recourse to Him, and wage jihad in His way, so that you may be felicitous.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُۥ مَعَهُۥ لِيَفْتَدُواْ بِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَا تُقُبِّلَ مِنْهُمْ  ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

иннəль-лəз̃иинə кəфəруу лəу əннə лəhум-мəə фииль-əрды джəмии'əу-вəмиc̃лəhу мə'əhу лийəфтəдуу биhи мин 'əз̃əəби йəумиль-ќийəəмəти мəə туќуббилə минhум, вəлəhум 'əз̃əəбун əлиим

Indeed if the faithless possessed all that is on the earth, and as much of it besides, to redeem themselves with it from the punishment of the Day of Resurrection, it shall not be accepted from them, and there is a painful punishment for them.

يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَخْرُجُواْ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنْهَا  ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ

йуриидуунə əй-йəхруджуу минəн-нəəри вəмəə hумм-бихōōриджиинə минhəə, вəлəhум 'əз̃əəбумм-муќиим

They would long to leave the Fire, but they shall never leave it, and there is a lasting punishment for them.

وَٱلسَّارِقُ وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ فَٱقْطَعُوٓاْ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَٰلًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ  ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

вəс-сəəриќу вəс-сəəриќōту фəəќтō'уу əйдийəhумəə джəзəə`əмм-бимəə кəсəбəə нəкəəлəмм-минəл-лаh, вəл-лаhу 'əзиизун həкиим

As for the thief, man or woman, cut off their hands as a requital for what they have earned. [That is] an exemplary punishment from Allah, and Allah is all-mighty, all-wise.

فَمَن تَابَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ظُلْمِهِۦ وَأَصْلَحَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِ  ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

фəмəŋŋ-тəəбə мимм-бə'ди з̃ульмиhи вə`əслəhə фə`иннəл-лаhə йəтуубу 'əлэйh, иннəл-лаhə ґōфуурур-рōhиим

But whoever repents after his wrongdoing, and reforms, then Allah shall accept his repentance. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ  ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

əлəм тə'лəм əннəл-лаhə лəhу мулькус-сəмəəвəəти вəəль`əрды йу'əз̃з̃ибу мəй-йəшəə`у вəйəґфиру лимəй-йəшəə, вəл-лаhу 'əлəə кулли шэй`ин ќōдиир

Do you not know that to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth? He punishes whomever He wishes, and forgives whomever He wishes, and Allah has power over all things.
