Ta-Ha (Ta Ha)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

бисмиль-лəhир-рōhмəəнир-рōhиим

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

20:1

طه

Та, ха!

Ta Ha!

20:2

مَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِتَشْقَىٰٓ

мəə əŋŋзəльнəə 'əлэйкəль-ќур`əəнə литəшќōō

We did not send down to you the Quran that you should be miserable,

20:3

إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ

ильлəə тəз̃кирōтəл-лимəй-йəхшəə

but only as an admonition to him who fears [his Lord].

20:4

تَنزِيلًا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ ٱلْعُلَى

тəŋŋзиилəмм-миммəн хōлəќōль-əрдō вəс-сəмəəвəəтиль-'улəə

A sending down [of the Revelation] from Him who created the earth and the lofty heavens

20:5

ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱسْتَوَىٰ

əррōhмəəну 'əлəəль-'əрши-стəвəə

—the All-beneficent, settled on the Throne.

20:6

لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ ٱلثَّرَىٰ

лəhу мəə фиис-сəмəəвəəти вəмəə фииль-əрды вəмəə бэйнəhумəə вəмəə тəhтəc̃-c̃əрōō

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever is between them, and whatever is under the ground.

20:7

وَإِن تَجْهَرْ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلسِّرَّ وَأَخْفَى

вə`иŋŋ-тəджhəр би-ль-ќōули фə`иннəhу йə'лəмус-сиррō вə`əхфəə

Whether you speak loudly [or in secret tones,] He indeed knows the secret and what is still more hidden.

20:8

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ  ۖ لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

аллаhу лəə илəəhə ильлəə hуу, лəhуль-əсмəə`уль-hуснəə

Allah—there is no god except Him—to Him belong the Best Names.

20:9

وَهَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ

вəhəль əтəəкə həдииc̃у муусəə

Did the story of Moses come to you,

20:10

إِذْ رَءَا نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ ٱمْكُثُوٓاْ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ هُدًى

из̃ рō`əə нəəрōн фəќōōлə ли`əhлиhи-мкуc̃уу иннии əəнəсту нəəрōль-лə'əллии əəтиикум-минhəə биќōбəсин əу əджиду 'əлəəн-нəəри hудəн

when he sighted a fire, and said to his family, ‘Wait! Indeed, I descry a fire! Maybe I will bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire.’
