كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ

кəз̃əəликə мəə əтəəль-лəз̃иинə миŋŋ-ќōблиhим-мир-рōсуулин ильлəə ќōōлюю сəəhирун əу мəджнуун

So it was that there did not come any apostle to those who were before them but they said, ‘A magician,’ or ‘A crazy man!’

أَتَوَاصَوْاْ بِهِۦ  ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ

əтəвəəсōу биh, бəль hум ќōумун тōōґуун

Did they enjoin this upon one another?! Rather, they were a rebellious lot.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ

фəтəвəльлə 'əнhум фəмəə əŋŋтə бимəлююм

So turn away from them, as you will not be blameworthy.

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

вəз̃əккир фə`иннəз̃-з̃икрōō тəŋŋфə'уль-му`миниин

And admonish, for admonition indeed benefits the faithful.

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

вəмəə хōлəќтуль-джиннə вəəль`иŋŋсə ильлəə лийə'будуун

I did not create the jinn and the humans except that they may worship Me.

مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ

мəə урииду минhум-мир-ризќиу-вəмəə урииду əй-йут'имуун

I desire no provision from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ

иннəл-лаhə hувəр-рōззəəќу з̃ууль-ќуувəтиль-мəтиин

Indeed it is Allah who is the All-provider, Powerful and All-strong.

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

фə`иннə лильлəз̃иинə з̃ōлəмуу з̃əнуубəмм-миc̃лə з̃əнууби əсhəəбиhим фəлəə йəстə'джилююн

Indeed the lot of those who do wrong [now] will be like the lot of their [earlier] counterparts. So let them not ask Me to hasten on [that fate].

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ

фəвəйлюл-лильлəз̃иинə кəфəруу мий-йəумиhимуль-лəз̃ии йуу'əдуун

Woe to the faithless for the day they are promised!

وَٱلطُّورِ

вəт-туур

By the Mount [Sinai],

وَكِتَٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ

вəкитəəбимм-мəстуур

by the Book inscribed

فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ

фии рōќќимм-мəŋŋшуур

on an unrolled parchment;

وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ

вəəльбəйтиль-мə'муур

by the House greatly frequented;

وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ

вəс-сəќфиль-мəрфуу'

by the vault raised high,

وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ

вəəльбəhриль-мəсджуур

by the surging sea:

إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ

иннə 'əз̃əəбə рōббикə лəвəəќи'

indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely befall.

مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ

мəə лəhу миŋŋ-дəəфи'

There is none who can avert it.

يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا

йəумə тəмуурус-сəмəə`у мəурō

On the day when the sky whirls violently,

وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا

вəтəсиируль-джибəəлю сəйрō

and the mountains move with an awful motion:

فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

фəвəйлюй-йəумə`из̃ил-ли-ль-мукəз̃з̃ибиин

woe to the deniers on that day

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ

əльлəз̃иинə hум фии хōудый-йəль'əбуун

—those who play around in vain talk,

يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا

йəумə йудə''уунə илəə нəəри джəhəннəмə дə''ə

the day when they will be shoved forcibly toward the fire of hell, [and told:]

هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ

həəз̃иhин-нəəруль-лəтии куŋŋтумм-биhəə тукəз̃з̃ибуун

‘This is the Fire which you used to deny!
