إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ

из̃əəс-сəмəə`у-ŋŋфəтōрōт

When the sky is rent apart,

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ

вə`из̃əəль-кəвəəкибу-ŋŋтəc̃əрōт

when the stars are scattered,

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

вə`из̃əəль-биhəəру фуджджирōт

when the seas are merged,

وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

вə`из̃əəль-ќубууру бу'c̃ирōт

when the graves are overturned,

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

'əлимəт нəфсумм-мəə ќōддəмəт вə`əххōрōт

then a soul shall know what it has sent ahead and left behind.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ

йəə əййуhəəль-иŋŋсəəну мəə ґōррōкə бирōббикəль-кəриим

O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord,

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

əльлəз̃ии хōлəќōкə фəсəувəəкə фə'əдəлəк

who created you and proportioned you, and gave you an upright nature,

فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ

фии əййи суурōтимм-мəə шəə`ə рōккəбəк

and composed you in any form that He wished?

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ

кəльлəə бəль тукəз̃з̃ибуунə бид-диин

No! Indeed, you deny the Retribution.

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَٰفِظِينَ

вə`иннə 'əлэйкум лəhəəфиз̃ыын

Indeed, there are over you watchers,

كِرَامًا كَٰتِبِينَ

кирōōмəн кəəтибиин

noble writers,

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

йə'лəмуунə мəə тəф'əлююн

who know whatever you do.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ

иннəль-əбрōōрō лəфии нə'иим

Indeed the pious shall be amid bliss,

وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ

вə`иннəль-фуджджəəрō лəфии джəhиим

and indeed the vicious shall be in hell,

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ

йəслəунəhəə йəумəд-диин

entering it on the Day of Retribution,

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ

вəмəə hум 'əнhəə биґōō`ибиин

and they shall not be absent from it.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

вəмəə əдрōōкə мəə йəумуд-диин

And what will show you what is the Day of Retribution?

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

c̃уммə мəə əдрōōкə мəə йəумуд-диин

Again, what will show you what is the Day of Retribution?

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا  ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ

йəумə лəə тəмлику нəфсул-линəфсин шэй`ə, вəəль`əмру йəумə`из̃ил-лильлəh

It is a day when no soul will be of any avail to another soul and all command that day will belong to Allah.

وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ

вəйлюл-ли-ль-мутōффифиин

Woe to the defrauders, who use short measures,

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ

əльлəз̃иинə из̃əə-ктəəлюю 'əлəəн-нəəси йəстəуфуун

who, when they measure [a commodity bought] from the people, take the full measure,

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ

вə`из̃əə кəəлююhум əу-вəзəнууhум йухсируун

but diminish when they measure or weigh for them.

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ

əлəə йəз̃унну уулəə`икə əннəhум-мəб'ууc̃уун

Do they not know that they will be resurrected

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

лийəумин 'əз̃ыым

on a tremendous day,

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

йəумə йəќуумун-нəəсу лирōббиль-'əəлəмиин

a day when mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds?
