وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ

вə`əннəhу хōлəќōз-зəуджəйниз̃-з̃əкəрō вəəль`уŋŋc̃əə

that it is He who created the mates, the male and the female,

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ

мин-нутфəтин из̃əə тумнəə

from a drop of [seminal] fluid when emitted;

وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ

вə`əннə 'əлэйhин-нəш`əтəль-ухрōō

that with Him lies the second genesis,

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ

вə`əннəhу hувə əґнəə вə`əќнəə

that it is He who enriches and grants possessions,

وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ

вə`əннəhу hувə рōббуш-ши'рōō

that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius;

وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ

вə`əннəhу əhлəкə 'əəдəнль-уулəə

that it is He who destroyed the former ‘Ad,

وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ

вəc̃əмуудə фəмəə əбќōō

and Thamud, sparing none [of them];

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ  ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ

вəќōумə нууhимм-миŋŋ-ќōбль, иннəhум кəəнуу hум əз̃лəмə вə`əтґōō

and the people of Noah before that; indeed they were more unjust and rebellious;

وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ

вəəльму`тəфикəтə əhвəə

and He overthrew the town that was overturned,

فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ

фəґōшшəəhəə мəə ґōшшəə

covering it with what covered it.

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ

фəби`əййи əəлəə`и рōббикə тəтəмəəрōō

Then which of the bounties of your Lord will you dispute?

هَٰذَا نَذِيرٌ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ

həəз̃əə нəз̃иирумм-минəн-нуз̃уриль-уулəə

This is a warner, [in the tradition] of the warners of old.

أَزِفَتِ ٱلْءَازِفَةُ

əзифəтиль-əəзифəh

The Imminent [Hour] is near at hand.

لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ

лэйсə лəhəə миŋŋ-дууниль-лəhи кəəшифəh

There is none who may unveil it besides Allah.

أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ

əфəмин həəз̃əəль-həдииc̃и тə'джəбуун

Will you then wonder at this discourse,

وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ

вəтəдhəкуунə вəлəə тəбкуун

and laugh and not weep,

وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَ

вə`əŋŋтум сəəмидуун

while you remain heedless?!

فَٱسْجُدُواْ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُواْ  ۩

фəəсджудуу лильлəhи вəə'будуу

So prostrate yourselves to Allah and worship Him!

ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ

иќтəрōбəтис-сəə'əту вəəŋŋшəќќōль-ќōмəр

The Hour has drawn near and the moon is split.

وَإِن يَرَوْاْ ءَايَةً يُعْرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ

вə`ий-йəрōу əəйəтəй-йу'ридуу вəйəќуулюю сиhрумм-мустəмирр

If they see a sign, they turn away, and say, ‘An incessant magic!’

وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ  ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ

вəкəз̃з̃əбуу вəəттəбə'уу əhвəə`əhум, вəкуллю əмримм-мустəќирр

They denied and followed their own desires, and every matter has a setting [appropriate to it].

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ

вəлəќōд джəə`əhум-минəль-əмм-бəə`и мəə фииhи муздəджəр

There have already come to them reports containing admonishment,

حِكْمَةٌۢ بَٰلِغَةٌ  ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ

hикмəтумм-бəəлиґōh, фəмəə туґнин-нуз̃ур

[and representing] far-reaching wisdom; but warnings are of no avail!

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ  ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍ نُّكُرٍ

фəтəвəльлə 'əнhум, йəумə йəд'уд-дəə'и илəə шэй`ин-ннукур

So turn away from them! The day when the Caller calls to a dire thing,
